FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago - Core Spaces announced that Greg Gonzalez has joined the firm as Director of Acquisitions, focusing on building a pipeline for new developments and existing acquisitions for the firm's growing conventional multifamily and student housing platforms. Gonzalez joins the team after more than eight years with the Berkadia Real Estate Advisors Investment Sales team, where he successfully closed over 11,000 units across 51 unique markets across the country for $1.7B in total consideration.
"I've been a huge fan of the Core Spaces culture and have been impressed with their projects ever since I became aware of their Hub Madison development. I'm excited to join the team and expand the platform," said Gonzalez.
The firm's successes in urban-infill high and mid-rise construction student housing have laid the groundwork for a conventional platform that allows the residents of Core's student communities to continue growing together in their next chapter of life. Focusing on urban core markets with strong employment and demographic fundamentals, Greg will source opportunities for ground-up development, repositioning of underperforming properties, and viable adaptive reuse of select assets across the country.
"Greg is an accomplished and proven leader with the right blend of functional and industry expertise necessary to help us expand our innovation across the conventional and student housing markets," said Andrew Wiedner, Chief Acquisitions Officer of Core Spaces. "He brings valuable strategic and tactical experience to our firm, and we're thrilled to have him be part of Core."
