ALBANY, New York: New York's new coronavirus-period dance rules will allow some dancing at parties.
The state said that when wedding receptions resume in March, guests will only be allowed to sit with members of their immediate party, household or family seated at the same table.
The rules also state that anyone dancing must wear face masks and stay within their own "dancing areas or zones," which should be no less than 36-square feet (3.3 square meters) in area and positioned some 6 feet away from other dance zones and tables. Switching dance zones will be prohibited.
Happy couples can still perform their ceremonial first dance and other couples can join in, but they must all be 6 feet apart from each other.
Live musicians and other entertainers are allowed to perform, but those without masks or playing wind instruments must be 12 feet (4 meters) away from the attendees or be located behind a physical barrier.
Governor Andrew Cuomo previously announced that weddings can again take place beginning 15th March, but venues will be restricted to 50 percent capacity, up to 150 guests, who must all have been previously tested for the coronavirus.
